If the Supreme Court were to examine the purpose of the 14th amendment and establish its purpose was for the Slave issues, then it would be in our best interests not to allow citizenship for children of illegals. No other country excepts this and neither should America. It's not like its Americas fault for these decisions and outcome of illegals breaking our laws. Unfortunately, it would be impossible to make such a change in citizenship laws retroactive. I'd be happy to just have the law changed and have it apply from here on out.

No matter what you or I or anybody else thinks, it would not pass constitutional muster.
That would require repeal of a Constitutional amendment. Fat chance if the child was born in the US.
