Britain and the EU are going to differ from the US, but in the US, once the paperwork has been submitted along the criteria described in the books mentioned, there are no further restrictions after the initial test period. Never mind if all the test rats die, the company gets to spin that info any way it wishes to.
Once approved by the FDA for example- no permit required at all to plant any approved GMO crop. If however if I wanted to raise wild mustard- you would think with the regulatory burden placed upon me to even try cultivate it- you would think it was radioactive waste.Does anyone know the of any legislation or codes of practice that relate to the breeding of potatoes?You wuld not be able to sell them commercially but they wold be fine to eat, however you could get tests form food people.
