How does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring?

I know the answer, I'm just putting this out for discussionHow does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring? Those businesses that already provide decent health care coverage to their employees don鈥檛 have a problem with it. Those businesses that don鈥檛 are of course concerned about costs.

Premiums have been rising at a dramatic rate for the last decade, well before the passage of the legislation. The health care legislation should be expanded to specifically address that issue. How does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring?
It doesn't frighten businesses. It does however impose new realities as far as hiring additional employees. When costs go up across the board arbitrarily on a business the business is forced to cut overhead any way it can or pass the additional costs along to the consumer.

Economics 101. If costs aren't cut or the additional expenses passed along to the consumer the business eventually ceases to exist putting everyone employed there out of a job.How does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring?umm small businesses don't want their tax credits for providing decent health insurance.

business don't like to hire healthy people, because they might actually make it to work every day and get promotions.

insurance companies that can't misrepresent their policies will no longer hire people for the purpose of misrepresenting them.

one flaw in your logic.

No businesses are out there considering hiring thr minimum amount of labor that they need in order to cut costs and compete with foreign companies anyway. So most businesses only employ essential personel anyway.

If a business needs additional help to keep up with demand for product they will hire them.
Speaking as the owner of a small business owner, every time I look at adding a new employee I look at the bottom line. Do I have enough business to justify this person? Does it look like business is going to continue to grow? Can I afford this person including their wages, insurance, unemployment, SSI and so on? What will it cost me to get them to the point of being productive? (Nobody is productive starting from day one and my people do a technical job so need longer than many.) Can I anticipate any increases in expenses before this person is really producing, such as tax increases, insurance increases, cost of materials and cost of fuel?

If, and only if all those are favorable I can hire a new person. If they are not favorable I cannot hire a new person. That's all their is to it. If health care or taxes are going up I cannot hire. If the economy is going to go down I cannot afford to hire.

Health care legislation is an added expense. Since the health care power grab became law I have seen an increase in health care premiums of about $200 per employee per month. I cannot afford to hire somebody else and stay in business.

To the clowns that insist I can pass the added cost onto the customer, remember that their pockets are not bottomless either. Fewer will buy my services if I increase the costs of services. It's a losing game. How does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring?Every time you raise the cost of labor, you decrease the incentive to hire.Of course if you really need the worker to run your business, you will hire. But I assure you every employer out there is going to take a longer, harder look to see what they actually "need".And if they can do the job with less workers, then that's what they will do.

If it frightens any business owner, that individual is not business savvy whatsoever.

The better you treat your employees and the more you offer them, the more loyal they become.

Your Employees are your advertising.

In addition all cost of doing business is passed on to the customer.

Why should this Country not be able to provide decent Health Care to all People, when other developed Countries have done so for 100 years and longer.

I welcome the Health Care Reform and look forward to periodic changes to benefit all. That is how it is done around the Globe.

Since when have we given up to be a World Leader? Why do we allow a small percentage of the Population - the Greedy - to turn us into a Third World Country?
Uncertain costs, rules, penalties, etc. The only thing a business knows for sure is that the cost of being an employer will rise, and the incentive to outsource will also rise. How does new healthcare legislation frighten businesses away from hiring?
Sorry its against the Terms of Service for Y!A to hold a discussions everything needs to be in a Question and Answer format. You say you know the answer and are discussing
