Do you think it is important for all real Americans to protest any legislation that increases the size, cost?

and/or power of the Government?

Why?

Could it have something to do with the fact that our Founding Fathers placed the power of government in the hands of the individual citizen so no individual or group could gain enough power to become tyrannical?Do you think it is important for all real Americans to protest any legislation that increases the size, cost?It is important for people to always question the government. People tend to forget the adage, "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." There are people who have spent half of their life in government and from the way they act they must feel that they have absolute power over the people. The only power we have as citizens is to question those in authority and if they can't provide adequate answers and work for the will of the people then it is time to get rid of them.Do you think it is important for all real Americans to protest any legislation that increases the size, cost?
It is more important for Americans to study the legislation proposed by Congress to ensure that they understand the ramifications of such legislation and then decide whether they agree with the aims and ramifications of the legislation. If they do not agree, they should protest. But to suggest that "real" Americans have the duty to protest any legislation expanding government is an anti-democratic suggestion and not worthy of a "real" American.Do you think it is important for all real Americans to protest any legislation that increases the size, cost?I believe that the government should help me with everything from choosing my doctor to holding my penis when I pee. (I think I would like the government to pay for a woman to hold my penis when I pee and make sure that she shakes it until I don't drip.)



I have a plan that would decrease the size of government to include just Defense, Infrastructure, EPA and Foreign Relations. There would be a phasing out of Social Security and all the other pork. All Americans would stand on their own two feet and the tax rate will be cut to 18% for everyone.



Hell yes all Americans should protest any increase in the size or power of the government. I don't want to quote the preamble of the Constitution but some how I believe it says:



"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."



It never said, Secure the Health Care of every person or provide retirement for non-citizens. I never saw in the Constitution were it says the government should spy on citizens. When the government oversteps its boundaries there should be a revolt by all citizens except the Kool-Aid drinking brain washed suckers.
