Good Question. I think it's actually going to force people previously not on government radar to register and disclose information. They will have to register and become government subjects afterwords or face IRS induced jail time. The poor will get it for free, but have to go through application and requirements to avoid the IRS.
It's all about control. I'm currently uninsured because I have more money than most. I get check ups and have been to the ER 3 times. I always pay out of pocket. I will soon have to pay a tax penalty for this and be subject to government regulations. Contrae, there is no health care reform legislation. No plan has ever been put forth to reform our system. This is just a cheap ploy to control yet another segment of your life. No one in america is turned away from any hospital for requesting treatment. By the way after reading the bill what's your take on Obammmas health care plan. He has targeted the people who are "rich" - anyone making over $250.000 a year! and the employer's will be forced to cough up to cover their employees! NOW! stop and think my friend! How many are there of us poor slobs who make that kind of money!? I had, what I call a damn good job, and ONCE because of overtime, I raked in over $40,000 THAT particular year, and I really thought I WAS rich! But, isn't that figure a long way from the $250,000's? Truth be known, there are not that many people in America today who earn anywhere close to that figure! So, what he is saying, the Rich slobs will be footing the Bill, and everybody who isn't working, don't have to pay!! There is NO equality in that! What he suggesting is, a Robin Hood affect! IF the rich do have to pay for the less unfortunate citizens, what incentive does THAT give the latter, to actually go out and find gainful employment? I am impressed. I cannot believe that every post thus far has indicated what I already know. The "rich" in this country will be forced to pay for the program. And the poor or middle income will be forced to get health care or be FINED for not getting the insurance. Sounds like a form of remedial punishment for anyone who does not go along with the "STATE RUN, STATE AUTHORIZED, STATE MANDATED, health system.
When Clinton was elected he said only the RICH would be receiving an income tax hike---imagine my surprise when I found out I WAS ONE OF THEM and I earned less than 50 thousand a year. My taxes went up---and of course I cringe every time I hear that only the "rich" will have to pay for the health care insurance. Did you read the fine print----we are soon going to be taxed for our insurance that we receive from work. Read the bill---everyone in America is going to be soaked and no one is going to benefit.
Rationing of care for seniors---higher costs for employers will force them to reduce their workforce---unemployment will rise and people will stand in longer lines to get the care they need.
