Where do lobbyists get information on pending legislation?

I've been trying to find information on unpassed bills currently in Congress, but have had little luck. So, I'd like to know how lobbyists get information on pending legislation to discuss with Congressmen. Is there some kind of "pendinglegislation.com" I can visit or would I need to actually go to Capitol hill to be able to research unpassed bills? If it matters, I'm trying to research defense issues.Where do lobbyists get information on pending legislation? While most lobbyists are there in Congress and talking to Congressmen and Senators so they are able to get a grip on the rumor mill and then work it down to the Committee in which the legislation is stalled in.

There is one place you can use, as I do frequently, to find out about legislation. This site is commonly called "Thomas", it is maintained by the Library of Congress. http://thomas.loc.gov/

Information on this site is usually about a day behind for it must wait for the close of Congressional Activities before it can post any info on legislation as it moves through the process.

You can search by a word or by the bill number if you have or know it. For example, give HR 3200 a try; this is the House version of the Health Care Reform...be patient while downloading it as it has a thousand pages.

For the topic of defense simply type that into the search window and be sure that you have designated the "word/phrase" method. Good luck as there are 399 pieces of legislation concerning defense.Where do lobbyists get information on pending legislation?lobbyists lobby for what they believe in, their company, their bosses, etc etc, so they just get all their ideas from those places.Where do lobbyists get information on pending legislation?Lobbyist write the laws they want passed and hand it to their whore in congress.

I don't want to give real whores a bad name because they do provide a service as opposed to our whores in congress that do that part backwards.
