What legislation exists to recognise and protect your terms and conditions of employment on the grounds of sex?

Hi Laura,

If you mean on the grounds of one's sexual preference, there are laws on the books in the US to protect anyone from discrimination based on sexual preference. Not all states support this, though. It would depend on the state/company. I would go to the company's web-site and read their mission statement. This will give you a clue as to whether or not the company is lenient regarding sexual preference. More and more we see companies changing their policies regarding this to become more politically correct in recognizing LGBT as a valuable and necessary component of the population. Therefore, if you feel you are at risk of losing your job due to your sexual orientation, you should see the advice of a good lawyer.

Hope this helps some,

Bret
