Any guidance on the legal restrictions upon entering the LSE (especially with regard to foreign companies) would be greatly appreciatedWhat piece of British legislation restricts UK %26amp; overseas companies from entering the UK stock market? There is no legislation per se that restricts entering the LSE but there are very strict listing rules imposed by the Stock exchange itself. The relevant Legislation for the UK market in general is the Financial services and markets act, the proceeds of crime act and the Anti money laundering guidelines.
Look on the LSE's website for further details on listing requirements. They may also be noted in the FSA's handbook.
