Do you think that the USA would be better off if the founding fathers had required 60% to pass legislation?

Seems to me that only the bills that most folks (not the bare majority) could agree on would pass, and that would be a good thing.Do you think that the USA would be better off if the founding fathers had required 60% to pass legislation?America would be better off if Americans used their brains and quit electing (Republicans and Democrats) people who ignore the Constitution and the principles found within.

As is, Americans are voting to bankrupt themselves.Do you think that the USA would be better off if the founding fathers had required 60% to pass legislation?I have thought about this many times. Not just this but other changes. I came to the conclusion that the constitution will only work with an ethical, un-corrupt government in place. The founding fathers realized this as well some of them believed that there would have to be frequent revolutions for this to happen. Given the past 9 years of the democrats and the republicans we are screwed unless we start recalling and replacing with ethical politicians.

Zero1 is correct the only way this is going to happen is if people get away from this Republican Democrat mindset.Do you think that the USA would be better off if the founding fathers had required 60% to pass legislation? No, the opposite. The filibuster already requires 60% and it's been a disaster, because it shifts power from the majority to the minority. And the majority is, statistically speaking, more likely to be right than the minority. That's just math, the simple math upon which democracy is based.
