Government can hinder or allow private sector jobs but the only jobs government can create directly are government jobs which consume wealth, produce nothing of value to sell and provide only a narrow boon to "government" cities and the surrounding vicinity.



If you think 14 Trillion or, as projected, 20+ Trillion debt in a few years is bad, you need to reach an understanding of what the total liability to the government (you and me) is for current and future retirees. The total cost is still growing but the government has yet to figure out how to fund the amount....because it's impossible to fund the amount and keep a vibrant economy.

Notice all governments, Federal, state and local have debt over and above tax revenue.



So if the Federal, state and local governments all raise taxes to pay debt, we all will have a lot less money to spend which creates demand which will create jobs.

The only job the government can create is a job that uses tax money for the paycheck. Making it a burden on the economy.

The government can only get out of the way of the private sector...

Government does stop private business from producing and also gives tax incentives to companies to move their manufacturing to other countries. Does that sound like job producing legislation?

There is only ONE way to create jobs. That is by increasing CONSUMER demand. We customers demand more products the businesses that make them have to increase production to keep up with that demand thus creating jobs. Government spending cannot create jobs because companies know the government buys in bulk and are generally either sporadic or one time purchases. So they will not hire employees for short term demand spikes. This is why tax and spend has not worked and will never work.
Because the multinationals are their people, not the American People. Giving tax breaks to companies to relocate overseas are what their multinational people want to maximize their profits.
Of course, this is bad U.S. domestic policy.
But who among conservatives is noticing or cares about these economic paradoxes?

Tea Partiers are incapable of understanding the differences between how MICRO-economics (Your household budget type of economics) and MACRO-economics (big business, national, and international economics) work. I've NEVER taken an economics course (or a psychology course) but I had a good friend in college who was an economics MAJOR (with a psychology minor), and she got an MBA. That, plus more than 58 years of life experience and observation have taught me that there's a HUGE difference between micro- and macroeconomics.
