What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked?

to improve the financial crisis , jobs , decrease deficits, improve the economy? What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked? They have proposed doing absolutely nothing for a year and a half.

OR, even worse, doing more of the SAME THINGS that caused our current problems, deregulating banks EVEN MORE, lowering taxes and increasing the Debt EVEN MORE...What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked?
The republican party has offered several initiatives that the Dem Majority has shut down, so they have become the loyal party of opposition. Something Dems have done as well in the past.

Number one: let families and businesses buy health insurance across state lines.

Number two: allow individuals, small businesses, and trade associations to pool together and acquire health insurance at lower prices, the same way large corporations and labor unions do.

Number three: give states the tools to create their own innovative reforms that lower health care costs.

Number four: end junk lawsuits that contribute to higher health care costs by increasing the number of tests and procedures that physicians sometimes order not because they think it's good medicine, but because they are afraid of being sued.

House Republicans are proposing:

Immediate Tax Relief for Working Families:

Rather than a refundable credit based on payroll taxes, House Republicans propose reducing the lowest individual tax rates from 15% to 10% and from 10% to 5%. As a result every taxpaying-family in America will see an immediate increase in their income with an average benefit of $500 in tax relief from the drop in the 10% bracket and $1,200 for the drop in the 15% bracket. A married couple filing jointly could save up to $3,200 a year in taxes.

Help for America鈥檚 Small Businesses:

Small businesses (those employing less than 500 individuals) employ about half of all Americans, yet they can be subject to tax rates that siphon away one-third or more of their income. House Republicans propose to allow small business to take a tax deduction equal to 20% of their income. This will immediately free up funds for small businesses to retain and hire new employees.

No Tax Increases to Pay for Spending:

The stimulus proposal pending in Congress includes record levels of government spending that will substantially increase the current deficit. House Republicans are concerned that this level of spending will result in some proposing near-term tax increases on American families. House Republicans are insisting that any stimulus package include a provision precluding any tax increases now or in the future to pay for this new spending. House Republicans believe that any stimulus spending should be paid for by reducing other government spending, not raising taxes.

Assistance for the Unemployed:

Incredibly, the Federal Government actually imposes income taxes on an individual receiving unemployment benefits. House Republicans propose to make unemployment benefits tax free so that those individuals between jobs can focus on providing for their families. The plan would also extend unemployment benefits from March to December, 2009.

Stabilizing Home Values:

The real-estate market is paralyzed as potential buyers wait on the sidelines waiting for prices to fall even further. This is becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. In order to encourage responsible buyers to enter the market and stabilize prices, House Republicans propose a home-buyers credit of $7,500 for those buyers who can make a minimum down-payment of 5%.What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked?Pretty much a counter proposal and countless amendments to every democrat sponosred legislation. Course every one of them was voted down on strict party lines. And y'all call us the party of No. Bi-partisan my a$$.What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked?
None. They come up with propaganda and insults. They don't really want to fix this because they would like to take office in 2012. It is irresponsible and futile.

They caused the economy but don't want Obama to have credit to fix it. So the come up with clever things like death panel, paying for abortions, and other lovely scare tactics to gain supporters.

It's pathetic really, but it worked for 8 years to keep Bush in office. How many times were the terror alerts raised every time Bush became unpopular?? The best is that Obama is a Muslim, isn't a citizen, et ludicrous to give the common folk something to regurgitate instead of blame their party. What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked? The Republicans have made many attempts to participate, only to have been silenced by the majority of bottom feeders in Congress called democrats.

You have been watching too much of that degenerate, Bill Maher. What legislation has the Republican party proposed in the year and a half? How would such legislation worked?
Candi, if you truly wanted to know what the repub party has been trying to propose in Congress, you could very easily go to the RNC website and see an extensive list of proposals that repubs have made and were voted down by the libs in a party line vote. You do not have to register and EVERYONE has access to that site.

You could get all the "examples" you want by typing a few letters on your keyboard and left clicking your mouse a few times, but I think your goal is to smear repubs and regurgitate the same hateful, false, lib created, "party of no" rhetoric that we have heard ad naseum from libs because they are unable to get a single repub to vote for the lib agenda that they are shoving down our throats!
After all the "No Red States or Blues States" BS from Obama during the campaign this has been the single most partisan administration in history.

Starting with the "Stimulus" Bill Republicans have been completely shut out of any discussions over legislation.

In the very first week Nancy Pelosi's quote was "Elections matter yes we wrote the bill"

The Republicans have proposed legislation on everything including a Republican Health Care Reform bill.
