Are there any concessions gun rights advocates would give up for the sake of legislation on behalf of victims ?

I dont see why, as my guns have never been used to commit a crime. Why should I be punished for something somebody else did? Ive seen criminals charged with 7 felonies and then go to jail for the one with the shortest jail time so instead of doing 40 years hard time they are out on parole in three, and the other 6 charges are dismissed. Perhaps it would make victims and there families feel better if -and bear with me now- we actually convict criminals for ALL the crimes they commit rather than impose further penalties and charges that make things harder for lawful gun owners. These regulations that people propose that wont stick when so many charges are dropped anyway.



Like recently a law was passed in a town near mine that made straw purchases of firearms illegal....

There is already a statewide law making them illegal! What purpose does such a useless law serve when the state wide one is dropped in court even though the criminal is obviously guilty?

Why oh why cannot gun control advocates understand that? Why is it so hard? We don't have a gun problem we have a criminal problem. Why don't address that instead? After all, a gun is nothing but a hunk of steel, inanimate with no will of it's own. It requires a person with intent to pick up up and commit a crime with it.



So let's leave the law abiding gun owners alone and do something about the criminals and about the general lack of respect for human life. Maybe we should stop sending the message that if a life is a bother to you, it's okay to end as we do with abortion. We have held those unborn lives as less than worthless and we wonder why some people think the same way about people that bother them, and then blame it on the gun. Totally knee jerk and illogical.
