Are they actually taking this idea seriously? How will they override Obama when they can't get the votes?Do republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?I don't believe they will be able to "repeal" the bill, but a Republican-controlled Congress could choose to not fund it.
Of course, that would be catastrophic for those who need the help, but since when do Republicans care about people in need?Do republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?
COUNT ON IT
2010 = Repuiblican Congress
2012 = Republican President
Thats all we need
RIP DNC!Do republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?No.
But how can we live w/ ourselves for the rest of our lives knowing we didn't even try?
I think the supreme court will find it unconstitutional.Do republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?it will STILL be on the books, it just won't get any funding.
Anything that can be done can be UN-doneDo republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?
yep. Isn't it a relief that we have a least ONE party that listens to the American People
Democratic party exercised complete arrogance with this law, instead of necessary discretion considering something that actually violates basic medical ethics and individual choice.
Health care is way too personal to force a political value system on individuals who maintain their own rights in this Country.Do republicans honestly think they will be able to repeal the health care legislation?
It isn't about health. Listen to Max Baucus: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/03/鈥?/a>
Anything is possible in politics, and to over-ride a veto has been done many times before with out a super majority, the democrats did it to Bush and the Republicans did it to Clinton. I didn't say it was easy but when popular opinion favors veto over-ride then it can happen.
Sure hope so. I have good health care and I don't need the gov't messing with it!
Yes.
Yes, we're taking this idea seriously. Obama will not be the president forever. Hopefully, not after 2012. That is before the damnable bill even begins in earnest. I think the discussion is currently whether to repeal or fix.
Yup, and we'd all better hope they do. I read the bill. It's NOT what we have been told it is, and unless you've read it SHUT THE HELL UP about it
After the Senate passed a "fix-it" bill Thursday to make changes to the new health care law, Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., chairman of the influential Finance Committee, said the overhaul was an "income shift" to help the poor.
this is what the bill was really trying to accomplish underneath the mask of civility
Yes, Republicans can repeal it using the very same process that Democrats used to pass it, namely reconciliation. If reconciliation is used to repeal Democrats' health insurance reform, then only 51 votes in the Senate is needed and 216 votes in the House. However, Republicans would have to wait for a newly-elected president that would be in favor repeal before they could move to use reconciliation since Obama would most definitely veto the repeal bill even if it passed both houses of Congress.
